Its definitely a profession thing I would say. I have it too during the night. I would say sitting in bad posture coupled with lack of excercise. The problem for me was that when I tried to excercise by running or walking, it actually made it worse, due to friction I guess. I'm now swimming once every 2 or 3 days and this really seems to be helping. It doesn't get rid of it completely, but its much more bearable. The key I find, is to know how much you can push yourself with the swimming. Avoid overdoing it.
